One Special Moment Jazz Ensemble - Sheet Music

Grade 2

SKU: CL.031-3183-00

Composed by Neeck. Jazz Ensemble. Barnhouse Easy Jazz Series. Audio recording available separately (item CL.991-2002-01). Solo. Score and set of parts. Composed 2002. Duration 3 minutes, 9 seconds. C.L. Barnhouse #031-3183-00. Published by C.L. Barnhouse (CL.031-3183-00).

Your developing jazz band will get maximum results from this smooth rock ballad which can feature either Alto Sax or Trumpet as soloist. Ranges are modest and allow the band to work on "making music" not just getting the notes and it’s playable with limited instrumentation. Also includes a guitar performance help sheet. Perfect for concert or contest, each performance will truly result in "One Special Moment". VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

One Special Melody
Larry Neek has written a really effective big band piece here. The melody and associated harmonies, whilst very easy to play, combine to make music that will be enjoyed both by players and audience alike. As lead alto in the A470s Big band, I have enjoyed playing the solo and have also transposed it for soprano saxophone where, if anything, it is even more effective. The inclusion of and (optional?) improvised section might be considered to enhance the piece for more advanced players. Nevertheless, a most enjoyable music from a highly capable composer.
