About Kevin McChesney

Kevin McChesney is a highly respected and prolific American composer and arranger, primarily celebrated for his significant contributions to the world of handbell music. As one of the few musicians who has made handbells a full-time vocation, McChesney has profoundly shaped the modern handbell repertoire and is recognized for his artistry and dedication to the genre, frequently sought after as a clinician and festival conductor.

Kevin McChesney graduated with highest honors from the University of Colorado at Boulder with a Bachelor of Music in Composition and Theory.
He has over 900 handbell titles in print, demonstrating his extensive output and influence in the handbell community.
McChesney won the National American Guild of English Handbell Ringers (AGEHR) Composition Contest in 1992 and was named Jeffers' Composer of the Year in 1993.
He served as the Music Director for the Pikes Peak Ringers, a virtuoso handbell choir, for 30 years, during which time their work included a recording with world-renowned cellist Yo-Yo Ma.
