Three Waltzes arranged for Flexible Ensembles
These three waltzes represent three distinct styles - the original classic style from a Russian ballet, the 20th century German ‘Biergarten’ idiom and the slow ‘country’ style, common in Ireland.
1) Waltz from Sleeping Beauty - the main theme from the classic waltz by Tchaikovsky
2) Waltz by Moonlight - a new Waltz in the German ‘Biergarten’ tradition from Bavaria
3) Slow Waltz - In the style of an Irish country waltz to the tune of The Mountains of Mourne written by Percy French 'Where the Mountains of Mourne sweep down to the sea'
All the arrangements allow for a great deal of flexibility in presentation and will sound complete with as few as four players, (brass quartet, string quartet etc.) yet the scoring allows for expansion up to a full symphonic orchestra, concert band or brass band
A full set contains a score and a generous set of parts (with permission to copy to suit your own requirements) for the following instruments:
