“Taps for the Innocents”: ‘Taps’ is a bugle call based on an earlier tune known as the “Scott Tattoo” and adapted by Union Army Brigadier General Daniel Butterfield to signal ‘lights out’. ‘Taps’ concludes military funerals, and is used by the Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and Girl Guides. This version, arranged for a brass quintet of 3 trumpets, trombone and optional tuba, was written specifically for the children and teachers – innocent victims – of the war on gun control. Performance time: 1:25+-.
