Excellent for Beginning Jazz Ensembles
This Rick Stitzel arrangement of 'Sway' is fantastic for my school jazz ensemble. The 'Beginning' level (1.5) is spot-on, with easy rhythms that make it accessible for developing musicians. The clear engraving, characteristic of Hal Leonard's Discovery Jazz series, makes reading a breeze. It's a great piece to teach ensemble dynamics and a smooth Latin feel to young players.

Fun & Achievable Classic!
Finally, an arrangement of 'Sway' that I can actually play with my community band! As an adult learner, the 'Beginning' difficulty level is perfect. The 'easy rhythms' and infectious groove make it so much fun, and it really captures that classic Michael Bublé-esque vibe. It's very achievable for a weekend player and makes a great start to any jazz ensemble rehearsal.

Great Ensemble Piano Part
As a collaborative pianist in school settings, the piano part for 'Sway' effectively supports the entire jazz ensemble. The rhythm section texture is well-crafted, laying down a solid harmonic and rhythmic foundation without overpowering. It supports the melody played by the horns, rather than doubling it directly. This provides a superb groove, which could easily back a vocalist if the ensemble played it that way.
