The Suite Gothique by French composer Leon Boellmann has proved to be of lasting popularity far beyond the boarders of France and is a worthy representation of the typically French school later to be expanded by Widor and Vierne.
Leon Boellmann was een componist en organist uit de Elzas, die leefde in de negentiende eeuw. In zijn korte leven (1862-1897) schreef hij een aantal belangrijke werken voor orgel. Zijn Suite Gothique geniet tot op de dag vanvandaag ook buiten Frankrijk grote populariteit. De vier delen van de suite zijn Introduction-Choral, Menuet gothique, Priere a Notre-Dame en Toccata.
Leon Boellmann war ein Komponist und Organist aus dem Elsass des 19. Jahrhunderts, der in seinem kurzen Leben(1862-1897) einige bedeutende Kompositionen fur Orgel schrieb. Seine Suite Gothique geniesst bis heute uber die Grenzen Frankreichs hinaus hohe Popularitat. Sie besteht aus den vier Satzen Introduction-Choral, Menuet gothique, Priere a Notre-Dame und Toccata.
