Ran Whitley has composed a cute, pithy work, Meter Quest for Brass Quintet. The work of about 4.5 minutes in length takes the players through a number of "mixed-meters" such as 10/8, 5/8 and 7/8. The intuitive melody makes the music flow without any awkwardness....so this is a fun piece to perform!
