Important Performance & Design Notes by the Arranger:

Flexible Instrumentation (10 or 11 Horns): This arrangement is written for 11 horns, but can easily be performed with 10 horns. In that case, the 5th horn part is canceled, and integrated cue notes in the other parts must be played.
Orchestral Scoring Logic: * The Solo Horn is not intended as a traditional concerto soloist. The terminology is preserved because Horns 1 to 4 form the original, idiomatic orchestral horn parts (with Horn 2 maintaining its traditional low-horn function).

The Solo Horn combined with Horns 1 to 5 generally covers the woodwind and horn textures from the original score.
Horns 6 to 10 are masterfully scored to represent the driving string sections of the orchestra.
Optional Timpani: The optional timpani part adds fantastic dynamic color, driving pulse, and symphonic weight to the performance.
