Composed by Augustin Lehfuss. Arranged by Hannes Otahal. Blues,Jazz. Score. 6 pages. Gustfuss Records #3036603. Published by Gustfuss Records (A0.876881).
A funny and a little bit tricky composition for Solo Boogie Woogie Piano by composer and arranger Augustin Lehfuss. This piece was written for Austrian Boogie Virtuoso Hannes Otahal, who also did some boogie-specific improvements to the original composition and also performed it in concerts. Though not yet released on CD it was allready recorded on a Bösendorfer Grand.
The piece bases on a simple funny improvisation phrase consisting of a chromatic line, which appears throughout the whole work. It´s inspired by the composer´s experiences as a jazz arranger and musician but in general it can be considered a typical boogie woogie piece. With a duration of almost exactly 3 minutes it´s perfectly suitable for public perfomance in concerts and clubs, though it would need a little effort to practice it. You need to be an intermiediate advanced pianist to master the composition, therefore it might be the right choice for students of the classical piano to explore the typical boogie woogie piano style
It should be played strictly in time without too much use of the sustain pedal.
